WHITE BALANCE

White balance in photography is defined as an adjustment that the camera makes so that the colors of your image are seen naturally without being affected by the color of the light source of the scene.

When your camera adjusts the white balance, it’s compensating for the color hue of your light source so the colors in your image stay true to reality. That is, the pure white parts of your image look white and don’t pick a warmer or colder tone due to the hue of the light source

The term ‘tungsten light’ refers to the most common kind of incandescent lightbulb used to provide artificial light to indoor areas such as your home or office. tungsten lights feature a tungsten filament housed within an inert gas, when a current is passed through the filament, the naturally high resistance of tungsten causes the filament to glow and output an orange light. The color temperature of a tungsten light is around 3200K, failure to address this in your camera’s white balance settings will result in images with a high color temperature, and an overall orange hue.

FLUORESCENT

Fluorescent Lighting Indoor scenes illuminated by fluorescent lights usually appear pleasing and natural in real life; however, color pictures of these same scenes often have an overall color cast that makes them appear unnatural. Fluorescent light emits blue and green light primarily and is deficient in red light

DIRECT SUNLIGHT

Direct light is the absence of light on any other side except the side with a single light source. Indirect light, by contrast, is light coming in from all sides. Technically speaking, there's always some small amount of light bouncing around and hitting your subject on all sides too

CLOUDY

The best reason to do cloudy day photography is the light. An overcast sky creates diffused light. This means, even light is falling over your entire scene.

Bright sunshine and well-defined clouds create strong light and powerful shadows.

The clouds act as a diffuser, making the light nice and soft. It is the perfect time for fashion and portrait photography. The soft light condition smoothens the skin out.
